“My work allows me to see the growth in Westfield firsthand, and I get to watch families enrich the community simply by becoming a part of it.” - Jenny Strote

Meet Jenny: California native turned Indiana fan

Day job: local real estate agent

For Jenny, home has always been less about an address and more about the people who fill it. Today, that means sharing life in Westfield with her husband - her favorite person - and their four much-loved cats.

A Southern California native, Jenny moved to Indiana in early 2020 after her now-husband brought her to Westfield. It did not take long for the community to win her over. She found a growing suburb with small-town charm, easy access to Hamilton County and Indianapolis, and an unmistakable sense of pride among the people who live there.

What keeps Jenny curious about Westfield is how there is always something new to discover. She enjoys seeking out local coffee shops and restaurants, attending concerts, spending time with friends, and exploring the area's parks and trails. Her list of local favorites is extensive: Rivet Coffee, Urban Vines Winery, Urban Apples Cidery, Nyla's, Italian House, Pesto Italiano, Nori, Birdies Mini Golf & Sports Bar, and Westfield Collective Food Hall.

Urban Apples holds a particularly special place in her heart. Its hot-air-balloon events, food trucks, local vendors, and community gatherings capture what she loves most about Westfield: people coming together and enjoying the place they call home. Farmers markets and seasonal events add to that welcoming spirit.

Jenny's connection to the community also shapes her work as a real estate agent. With Westfield offering everything from new construction to established neighborhoods and homes with more land, she loves helping clients find a place that fits their lives. Seeing someone realize they have found not only the right house but also a community they are excited to join is one of the most rewarding parts of her career.

Her path to real estate may surprise some people. Jenny is also a registered nurse with 11 years of experience. Although she no longer practices full-time, nursing remains an important part of her story - and its people-first perspective carries naturally into the way she guides her clients.

Her advice to anyone new to Westfield is enthusiastic and simple: get out and explore. Try the restaurants, visit the parks, attend local events, and enjoy watching the community grow. Winter may require some adjustment, she jokes, but newcomers are still "in for a treat."

Jenny is grateful for the house she and her husband have made their own, but her definition of home goes deeper than walls, upgrades, or location.

Home, she believes, is who you share it with. Everything else is the cherry on top.
